## 1) Get Windows 8/10/11 key, if there is no key sticker
1.1) Get USB stick that is 8 GB or a little bigger (not too big like 128 GB)
1.2) Download Rufus https://rufus.ie (or BalenaEtcher https://etcher.balena.io)
1.3) Download some live distro, for example newest Linux Mint Mate https://linuxmint.com
1.4) With Rufus of BalenaEtcher, write .iso to USB stick
1.5) Boot from USB Linux Mint, usually after power on F8 key is boot menu, or F12
1.6)
Windows 8 and Windows 10/11 OEM product key from BIOS when using Linux
Run that command from https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-find-windows-10-oem-product-key-command/ to show key and copy it to another USB stick or smartphone where you can see it
## 2) Create bootable Windows Install USB stick
2.1) Download Rufus https://rufus.ie
2.2) Download Windows
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
https://www.microsoft.com/fi-fi/software-download/windows10ISO
2.3) If you are installing Windows 11 to computer that does not support Windows 11

The following step-by-step guide shows how to install Microsoft Windows 11 (latest Insider Preview build 22463.1000) on top of VirtualBox 6.1; this guide has been tested and verified on both macOS as well as Linux hosts. This is to address the reported issue that Windows 11 could not be installed as a VirtualBox VM.
NB: those instructions should be also valid for [Microsoft Windows 11 Generally Available release, actually targeted for October 5, 2021](https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2021/08/31/windows-11-available-on-october-5/).
The first step is to properly configure the virtual machine that will guest the "Microsoft Windows 11" Installation; the virtual machine has to be configured in the following way (minimum requirements), based on official "[Windows 11 Specs and System Requirements](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11-specifications)" and your system needs to have [proper updated x86 CPU](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/windows-processor-requirements):
System - Motherboard
RAM: 4GB (minimum) - 8GB (minimum suggested)
EFI (Special OSes only) enabled
8) Boot from USB Windows Install
9) Add license key
